Introduction
Building is part of the cultural achievement of a society. In addition to the purely structural quality of the completed building, the way in which the building was planned and realised is also part of our building culture.
The increasing complexity of construction projects, the digitalisation of the construction industry and the shortage of skilled workers call for new models of collaboration in order to build better and more sustainably with less effort.
The previous traditional models, which were based on the coordination of the individual interests of the various contractual partners, are to be replaced by the project alliance model, an organisational model in which the interests of the project partners are aligned.
The focus is on the joint success of the project.
International experience with project alliances shows that the hoped-for positive effects materialise to a high degree.
The legal framework in Switzerland and our long-established culture of cooperation in the construction industry require a tailor-made solution for this new type of organisational model, which cannot be found either in the law or in current standards.
The factsheet SIA 2065 provides a practical tool tailored to the Swiss market in order to facilitate the use of partnership models – where their use makes sense and is advantageous.
